The fruit of my labor grows in other people’s vineyards. I love planting idea seeds and watching them grow as others take over.
I am honored to be serving as the CEO to CEOs at Convene. I've been engaged in the for-profit, nonprofit and academic sectors in my career, serving in large corporate structures and small independent business.
I was very blessed to have served as a leader and senior executive for 20 years with The ServiceMaster Company, a multi-national, $9 billion dollar firm engaged in Health Care and Education out-sourced management as well as franchising. In my ‘Half-Time’ transition, I moved to a non-profit role as Vice President of Arrow Leadership and Director of Leadership Development for Christian Leadership Alliance, where it was a delight to create learning experiences for the most influential Christian leaders & organizations in the world.
My life has always been strengthened by my work with Biola University where I graduated with a degree in Business and returned 20 years later to serve for 13 years as Director of Strategic Alliances. Biola University is a 100-year-old, 6,000+ student liberal arts higher education institution in Southern California where I built strategic partnerships with business, non-profit and academic partners, as well as secured financial capital for the implementation of the university strategic plan through a comprehensive $180 million capital campaign.
I love thinking strategically as a board member/adviser to non-profit organizations. I've volunteered with Youth for Christ, The Barnabas Group, Biola University, Overseas Crusades, The Navigators, The Master's Program and as Chairman of Christian Credit Counselors.
Somehow, in all this activity, my amazing wife Shelley has been by my side for 35 years and together, we're the parents of five children who are 'apprentices' to the Master, Jesus. We've had the magnificent opportunity over more than sixteen years to volunteer our time sharing God’s blueprint for marriage, speaking to thousands of couples at Family Life’s Weekend to Remember marriage conferences.
